任天堂日前發布最新預告，宣佈《斯普拉遁3》的大型節日活動「Splatfest」將於9月12日上線。在預告片中，開發商展示了一場盛大的音樂會，並詳細說明活動舉辦時間為太平洋時間9月12日下午5點至9月15日同一時間（香港時間9月13日上午8點至9月16日）。

此次活動被形容為系列「有史以來最大的Splatfest」，旨在慶祝遊戲的「兩週年紀念日」。然而，許多粉絲猜測這可能會是《斯普拉遁3》最後一次的新內容更新。
